Invar36

Alloy 36 is a nickel-iron, low-expansion alloy containing 36% nickel. It maintains almost constant dimensions above normal room temperature, and has a low coefficient of expansion from cryogenic temperatures to about 260°C.
Alloy 36 retains good strength and toughness at cryogenic temperatures due to its low coefficient of expansion. It maintains nearly constant dimensions at temperatures below -150°C (-238°F) all the way up to 260°C (500°F) which is critical to cryogenics.
This alloy is produced by several companies all which have trademarked their own brand name, such as Invar 36® Alloy, Pernifer® 36, and NILO® 36.
