Nitronic 50

Nitronic 50

Nitronic 50 is a nitrogen-strengthened austenitic stainless steel that has properties that combine excellent strength, ductility, toughness, corrosion resistance and fabricability. Nitronic 50 is a very versitile and useful alloy due to it retaining its very good mechanical properties at both elevated and sub-zero temperatures. Also Nitronic 50 has outstanding corrosion resistance (greater than alloy 316 and 316L) and it is an effective alloy for use in the Petroleum, Chemical, Marine, Nuclear, Pulp and Paper, Textile, Food Processing industries.

HS conditon
The superior strength of Nitronic 50 bars is due to special hot rolling and is size-dependent.
HS condition is non-magnetic and is useful for applications in a wide range of temperatures, from -196 to 650°C.

Super HS condtions
Super HS are obtained by special hot plastic deformation which provides the product with the highest strength guaranteed for the previous HS condition up to 152.4mm diameter without being size dependent.
Because their high strength is produced by mill processing, subsequent hot forging, welding or brazing operations cannot be performed both on HS and Super HS materials without loss of strength.
